Trinity Medical College was built 1871 to be close to the original site of the Toronto General Hospital, which was located south of Spruce St., west of Sumach St., north of Gerrard St. East and east of Sackville St.

Trinity Medical School was incorporated in 1877 as an independent teaching body. In 1888, Trinity Medical School became Trinity Medical College, and in 1903, became part of the University of Toronto.

Today, visitors to Toronto’s Cabbagetown neighbourhood will find a plaque detailing the College’s history at 41 Spruce Street, just east of Parliament Street. The Royal Ontario Museum includes the College as part of its historic walks of the city.
